The deeply talented, at times irreverent, Maynard James Keenan, lead singer and chief protagonist of both Tool and A Perfect Circle fame decided in 2007 to found his third band Puscifer he once described as “the space where my Id, Ego, and Anima all come together to exchange cookie recipes.” This, to be his ‘for fun‘ group, not dissimilar to Ministry’s Al Jourgensen’s ‘for fun‘ group Revolting Cocks. Over the years, Puscifer’s lineup has included members of Primus, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Lisa Germano of label 4AD and even lovely actress/vocalist Milla Jovovich of The Fifth Element. Their first album release was ‘V is for Vagina’ and included the afore-referenced track, a recounting of a mother’s not unkindly, strikingly-blunt warnings regarding life to her son, always with the final admonition to “take it like a man.” ‘Nuff sed.
